Taxi Driver Medicals (Hackney Carriage and Private Hire)
We carry out medical examinations for people applying for a first taxi licence and existing taxi drivers renewing their licences.
Although the medical standard to hold a taxi licence is the same as for a DVLA Group 2 bus or lorry licence, the Local Authority will supply you with their medical form which they wish to be completed. This form is often available on their websites.
Some Local Authorities insist on the medical examination being completed by the applicant?s own GP. The table below provides guide-line information. If you are uncertain please check with your local Council Licensing Department to make sure that you can see a doctor other than your own GP for the medical assessment. ?At Examinair you will be required to complete a comprehensive health questionnaire and sign confirming that the answers provided are complete and correct.
