LGV (HGV) PCV (PSV) DVLA MEDICALS  and

TAXI* (hackney carriage/private hire) medicals at Norwich Airport

Group 2 DVLA medical standards which apply to vocational drivers are stricter than Group 1 standards which apply to car driving. This reflects the size of vehicle, and the time spent driving in the particular occupation.   The purpose of these standards is to protect other road users/passengers.

* some Local Authorities currently require hackney carriage and private hire drivers to undergo medicals with their own GP practice.

LGV and PCV examinations are available at a cost of:

£65.00   (inc VAT)

Please bring with you to your examination the following:

  • Photo Identification
  • D4 application form  (I have a supply available if you do not have one)
  • Spectacles or lenses worn for distant vision
  • Details of any prescription medication you are taking

A full medical history and examination will be taken and you will be required to sign the D4 form confirming that the medical information provided is both complete and correct.

It will be necessary to provide a specimen of urine during the examination itself.
