Occupational Health

Dr Vincent Kielty holds both the Diploma in Occupational Medicine and the Diploma in Disability Assessment Medicine and is available for formal Occupational Health Consultations regarding work related issues.

The following medical assessments are also available by appointment:

 

  • Pre-employment
  • Night worker
  • Pressurisation
  • Confined space
  • Airside medicals
  • Cabin crew medical examinations

 

Comprehensive laboratory blood tests,  and also formal laboratory urine screening for illicit substances and alcohol with full chain of custody are available with results normally within 48 hours. Urine testing for illicit substances and breathalyser alcohol testing are also avaiable on site to enable certification at the time of examination.


UKOOA  (OGUK)  AND NORWEGIAN  OFFSHORE MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS at Norwich Airport

Offshore workers are required to undergo and pass a medical examination which certifies them as medically fit to work in the offshore environment. This must be renewed every two years.

Offshore comapnies generally recognise the reciprocal "Hardanger Agreement" with regard to medical certification however it is best to check with your employer that a UKOOA medical is valid if you intend working outside UK territorial waters.    

If required,  NORWEGIAN medical examination and certification is also available at Examinair for offshore work within  Norwegian waters.

Both the UKOOA and NORWEGIAN medical assessments involve the following:

  • Medical Questionnaire – explored during the assessment
  • Comprehensive general physical examination
  • Height and weight measurement with Body Mass Index calculation
  • Blood pressure
  • Spirometry (lung function testing)
  • Audiometry (formal hearing test)
  • Vision testing (Distance/Intermediate/Near)
  • Colour vision testing
  • Urine test (sugar, blood, protein)


Aerobic Capacity Assessment for ERT duties (Chester Step Test), and also Drug and Alcohol screening (with full chain of custody) are also available if required.
